“I didn't try on a single wedding dress, I found Angela Kim online and we immediately clicked. I told her I wanted a dress that would work in either Paris of Westworld, and that was completely modular so that I could wear it again later. She came up with a skirt, Corset, overskirt, and choker combo that I could not have been happier with. She really understood the vision! The overskirt was rather wide so I walked myself down the aisle. I loved the look of runway aisle seating but was not sure how it would work, functionally. We decided to take the risk, and I am so glad we did! Multiple guests told us that not only were they able to see the procession more clearly, but being able to face the other guests gave the ceremony a feeling intimacy and community, as if they were all in it together. I loved being able to see everyone's faces so clearly as I made my way to Will.”

The Design:
When World Experiences Perfectly Collide
Kaitlin and Will presented the most colorful life experiences with me when learning their story and design aesthetic. Kaitlin initially imagined a very Ralph Lauren meets Utah mountains vibe, but after hearing more about Kaitlin’s years spent in Hong Kong, Will proposing in Italy on a family trip to Sorrento, their love for mixed patterns/media and love for music and the arts…
I knew I had to design something much more “maximalist” for them.
I took what they shared and pushed outside the design box and created a far more creative aesthetic for K+W. I am so grateful for their trust throughout the design and planning process! It really allowed us to create a truly remarkable and memorable wedding!
The Italian-inspired chandeliers, the giant paper flowers brought in from a Chinese artist, a William Morris Art Nouveau print for the paper details and dance floor wrap mixed in with rustic Park City details all blended together for a wedding that “was so Kaitlin and Will!”
I would like to say our giant paper flowers and the William Morris pattern were picked BEFORE it started to become popular in home design and event design! It is so hard when we build a concept and keep it secret for 12+ months while we see trends start to pop up! But, we LOVE that reveal moment and the reaction! So, the hush hush was worth it! But, Kaitlin and I will stand tall saying “we thought of it first!” LOL
Getting Ready
Let’s talk glam squad.
Don’t underestimate the value of experienced, quality beauty artists. It absolutely makes a difference! How your hair holds for 10+ hours, does your foundation crease or get cakey… how are those lashes holding up? Take your time finding the best artist for your unique style, hair, skin and bridal party beauty needs.
Consider your hair coloring, extensions welllll BEFORE your wedding month! Kaitlin met many months before with @beautiful.reaction to nail down extensions and getting the blond just right. I also recommend all my clients start a facial routine at least 6 months out. It’s worth it! Kaitlin’s beauty team @acieartistry and @annasullivanhair did a beautiful job throughout the wedding weekend events attending to Kaitlin’s different looks. 💕
The Ceremony & Cocktail Hour, pivot!
“Will walked down the aisle to a bluegrass cover of the Danger zone (the same song he entered with when he participated in a reality dating show called "Take Me Out"). I walked down the aisle to Lana Del Rey's "Say yes to Heaven", and we exited the ceremony to Eddie Money's "Two Tickets to Paradise" (another reference to the dating show, we thought of this as a fun full circle moment).”
Welcome to weddings in the mountains! Weather can change FAST! As the ceremony start time was approaching we started having wind guests over 40MPH! Our cocktail linens were flying into the sky! The chuppah was shaking, the acrylic chairs were blowing over, the reserved seat signs were flying into the trees… We pulled the linens and dressed tables inside the barn space just in case we had to have the cocktail inside. We started to make the call on moving the chuppah, but our Groom was steadfast and held firm on an outdoor ceremony! Artisan Bloom’s team worked hard to secure the chuppah and all the vendors scrambled to make everything as “wind proof” as possible - sometimes a couple large rocks make their way to holding up a bar menu :)
The large paper flowers were originally intended to dress the pathway leading to the ceremony, but there was no way they would hold up in that high of winds… so, we dressed the inside space with them and it ended up being quite epic!
Let’s Turn It Up! Neon Cowboy!
“After our first dance, to Marcus King's "Wildflowers and Wine", we snuck off to change into our neon cowboy looks and surprised our guests by going for Westworld to Will's World! The lights turned pink and we brought out hats from the brand Neon Cowboys, along with Nashville Hot Chicken sandwiches and Mochi Donuts, of course! Blue Sky did an amazing job on the food and it's safe to say that no one went hungry that night.”
