“With the help of wedding planner, Ira & Lucy, Kaitlin and Will planned a wedding weekend that was a stunning fusion of elegance and rustic charm, perfectly themed “Cowboy Couture.” The festivities began with a vibrant welcome party at The Spur, where the couple embraced a full 70s vibe. Will sported a buckskin fringe jacket, Wrangler jeans and Tecovas boots, while Kaitlin wowed in a brown and cream Alemais skirt set inspired by cowboy boots, complete with a Stars and Stripes bag by paco Rabanne, big hair and striking blue eyeshadow.” - Rocky Mountain Bride editorial feature
A Dream Team Experience:
Collaborating with Katherine and Kellie
The space itself offers so much that it doesn’t require a lot of design, We brought in some fine linens to dress up the venue’s tables, created custom signage, cocktail napkins and frosted cups from Katherine Jezek Design and local floral designer, Artisan Bloom nailed the foraged modern floral elements I envisioned. The texture in the florals were stunning and so fitting!
Kaitlin envisioned a Ralph Lauren/Utah Mountain’s vibe. She ALSO is all about color and maximalism. We saved the maximalism for the wedding wow-factors (stay tuned for part 2), and built up the luxury with each event. We had a firm budget to work with for the Welcome Party, which is why The Spur was such a fabulous pick! We had a perfect foundation with The Spur’s existing furniture and decor.
Tim and Taylor Gore, a captivating country music duo, meld traditional charm with authenticity. Tim, originating from Corbin, Kentucky, and Taylor, from Grants Pass, Oregon, craft songs that reflect their life experiences. Their journey began in 2014, and in 2021, they became life partners as well as musical partners.
They’ve collaborated with Grammy-winning producers and top songwriters, ensuring a high-quality sound. Their live shows are lively, upbeat, and unforgettable.
Working with The Spur Bar & Grill
The logistics of our Plan A for the Welcome Party just weren’t panning out… So, it was time to PIVOT! Working with Brie, our main POC for The Spur, we worked through securing the top floor of the space, creating an approachable laid back menu with some signature drinks and they were super accommodating with my design details, timeline and entertainment needs. It was a phenomenal experience AND perfect way to kick off the wedding weekend.
Planner Insight! Perks of The Spur:
Location
The Spur’s top bar patio boasts the best view of Main Street and the mountains that Park City has to offer.
Book this space in the summer and fall to feel the crisp mountain air and watch the leaves change on the mountain. Book this space in the winter to see the true beauty of our city. With heating units and a heated floor you can be sure you’ll never slip or shiver. Enjoy your own private bar and view like no other.
For larger events, reserve the Top Bar, Original Back Bar and the Corral VIP space. It’s a very versatile space with reasonable buyout rates, great staff that truly engages with your guests in creating a professional, but fun environment.
note that the space is only available for a full buyout event. We can help you with all the details!
Parking
Parking can be quite tricky around Main Street, however The Spur is situated directly across the street from a parking garage that is easy for guests to navigate. It also made load in and out for our floral and design teams to access.
Quality Food & Beverage
It can be challenging narrowing down options for hosting your event in Park City - the food and beverage scene is UNREAL here! The couple had a set budget and focused on some guest-friendly selections. On our off time, I personally loved the Roasted Beet Salad with an Old Fashioned. Jonnathan was all about the wings. We had guests spanning the globe, from the Hamptons to Europe, and were confident in the Spur’s offerings and they did not disappoint. The cocktails and beer on tap were fantastic and the bar hustled to keep drinks flowing and lines minimal, Happy Guests = Happy Clients = Happy Planner :)
