Ira + Lucy Black and White Bohemian Wedding
I can't get enough of this "Boho" vibe that we are seeing all over! Perhaps it's because we have a very special Ira + Lucy couple getting married in July, who rock this Bohemian Chic look like no other! I've been on a black and white, or just white design kick lately and when I stumbled on these black and white geometric poufs for our rental inventory I squealed with delight! I ADORE these modern boho seating options. Our poufs are not the "cheapy" ones out there that are super soft and collapse when sat on - I don't know about you, but the last thing I want is my bride and groom or any of their guests getting stuck in a pouf! Ours are perfect for seating at a dining table or lounge set up! Keep it chic with black, white, greenery, and pops of wood and bronze tones! You can't go wrong with a black and white bohemian wedding design! GORGEOUS! Be sure to reserve your Ira + Lucy Geometric Poufs for your wedding or special event! We require rentals be finalized 30 days prior to your event! Get crack'n!

Feeling a little more classic? You can still rock the "pouf" using a less bold option! We have some new inventory items coming soon that we are soooo excited to share! Here are some great concepts you can see from our "Wedding Lounge Poufs" Pinterest Board.
Yellow Wedding Ideas - Ira and Lucy
Here's a little sunshine for your Monday afternoon! If you follow us on Instagram, you'll see I have an obsession with these dusty, muted tones! The yellow and gray wedding palette has been done a million times, so I suggest opting for a more toned down hue and layering your palette to more than just yellow and gray. Hope you enjoy our yellow wedding ideas board! We adore this vintage chair featured at the Bliss and Bespoke Retreat! The added pop of pink/violet is beautiful!
You can see we incorporated vintage elements and popped in some mid-century modern vibes with the vase selection. Texture is key! Chiffon, lace, velvet tufting, wood, greenery - layering is the key to quality design! For our groom, how about stepping away from a tux rental and go with a charcoal suit and a dapper bow tie! YES PLEASE! Love it! This look is really quite achievable and works great for the couple on a budget, but design in mind! We love us a vintage accent chair, perfect for those bridal portraits, special seating at dinner and then used again for the garter toss! When we chat with our clients we talk a lot about how to repurpose decor elements to save on the budget! Think about how that chair will make for way cooler pics for the garter toss then a regular folding chair? Just say'n ;)
As you know we are pretty smitten over Maggie Sottero Gowns and think the "Anna" gown in the champagne tone would be so gorgeous with this concept. It's "a stunning fit and flare wedding dress featuring pleated tulle and flaring into a voluminous skirt, is complete with romantic sweetheart neckline and finished with corset closure" You can find Maggie gowns at exclusive retailer, Heartfelt Bridal, just off Fairview Avenue.
As for adding in those modern elements - think color blocking or geometric shapes and lines. Hook up with local invitation and specialty paper designers Paperie + Pen just down the road from Heartfelt Bridal at The Village at Meridian! They have a dreamy paper shop that you will die for! This is a great place to also get thank you cards for your bridesmaids, gifts for your friends and family and a whole lot more!
Winter Solstice Wedding Inspiration
I was inspired for a blush wedding when my family visited a local nursery for our Christmas Tree and was pleasantly surprised by the stunning rows upon rows of lush poinsettias, especially the blush toned ones. What a stunning color and how perfect for a romantic winter wedding! Blush doesn't just have to be a summer and spring season wedding color. We adore it for an incredibly dreamy sunset wedding! With Winter Solstice this weekend we thought it was the perfect time to share this lovely idea board we designed!

Marsala Pantone Color of the Year 2015
It's been announced! The Hot Color for 2015 has been predicted to be Marsala, an earthy red-brown and sophisticated tone. Similar to burgundy and maroon, I know many of you think Marsala will only fit fall and winter season weddings. Here, I have paired this bolder tone with the soft romantic hues I know so many of you love. Peach, blush, dusty rose and gold all pair wonderful with Marsala. Marsala encourages design to layer tones and I LOVE that! I always encourage our couples to broaden their original color palette and not just use two or three, but to layer them. If you adore this color, but are worried it will dominate, take some of these ideas as inspiration. A pop in your floral design, perhaps some stunning after the wedding lingerie, invitation liners, or a breath taking vintage sofa for your bridal portraits or memorable lounge at your reception. There are so many lovely options! We'd love to hear your feedback on this year's choice! I'm still partial to 2013's Emerald, but I think I can be persuaded with this elegant hue.

Spring & Summer 2015 Wedding Inspiration - "Vanilla Butter" Geometry Meets Old World Elegance
Alright my 2015 Spring and Summer couples! I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU to consider swapping peach and coral for this stunning pale butter yellow. Yellow is a color that creates quite the wow factor. Whether a mustard yellow for a more boho vibe, or this pale version that is muted down, rustic and features an old world charm you can't go wrong! I am particularly fond of this weather'd yellow as seen in our inspiration board; it pairs so well with vintage furniture and decor! I know how many of you adore burlap, lace and rustic elements. Consider changing it up a bit! You can still add the vintage elements (old crates, lounge seating and accent chairs, antique'd furniture for cake displays and so many more options!), but you also don't have to be "all vintage". Add in some modern elements with the hot geometric trend - it can still all work together quite beautifully! Let's take your burlap, chalkboard, vintage love and mix it up a bit! We'd love to hear your thoughts! I was inspired by the stunning Carolina Herrara Gown in lemon yellow!
Pink Lemonade- Summer wedding inspiration
Summer Time!
I don't know about you but I am SO ready for summer! I am sitting here on a brisk, windy spring day wishing I could feel the sun on my face while sipping pink lemonade in the garden. And of course this daydream inspired a wedding board that is full of sunshiny yellow and soft pink mixed with just the right amount of subtle vintage accents.
I am in love with the golden ranunculus and muliti colored anemones in the bouquet...a touch of the sophisticated that neatly balances the rustic mason jars and distressed wallpapered wood. And how adorable is that mail box card catcher!? For an outdoor event a lounge area featuring a lemon yellow wingback chair paired with our cream Anna Marie sofa styled with custom pillows would be the crowning glory to an event that I know I would never forget!
This whole color palette has me positively drooling and I am already envisioning a DIY project with wallpaper and wood...maybe a ceremony backdrop or cake stand. Or maybe just something fabulous for my own house!
Use our Celeste Desk or Maude Vanity for a refreshing lemonade beverage station like this one:

Saint Patrick's Day Inspiration from Arielle
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something green?!? With St. Patrick’s Day coming up this weekend I am filled with thoughts of the windswept Irish moors, moss, Snowdrops, and of course Guinness! Drawing my inspiration from the gorgeous natural elements of Ireland I put together an inspiration board that takes a teensy step away from the garish green and a giant leap towards an intensely glamorous event with touches of the raw beauty to be found in the countryside. I daydreamed about a wedding that was almost unearthly, romantic, and mysterious. In my head I saw misty hills, raw rugged untouched beauty , moss, stone, and reclaimed wood to give a nod to Mother Nature while an elegant off-shoulder gown and curly calligraphy glam things up in a mixture sure to be unforgettable. The deep plum color is my version of the “Kiss me I’m Irish” red, and don’t forget the shamrock adorned Guinness for plenty of luck and love! My favorite part of this board is the quant pitcher of Snowdrops. This simple little flower is a symbol of hope and the first flower to bloom in spring. A touching sentiment to add to your special day.
With that I leave you with a traditional Irish wedding vow:
Bye the power that Christ brought
From heaven, mayst thou love me.
As the sun follows its course, mayst
thou follow me.
As light to the eye, as bread to the hungry, as joy to the heart,
may thy presence be with me, oh one that I love,
‘til death comes to part us asunder.
Meet Arielle - New Team Member
Meet our newest Ira & Lucy Team Member, Arielle! We are so excited to have Arielle on board! Building the right team for Ira & Lucy is so important to us, as we take great care to ensure that we perform with integrity, thrive on creative "awesome'ness", know how to work our tail ends off, have a sense of humor to handle high stress situations, and have a slightly OCD/Type A blend. Yes, it takes the right person to do what we do. I am impressed with Arielle's attention to detail and her eagerness to create! She is innovative, very personable and I love how she digs her heels in on both little and big projects! Also a newlywed! We just adore her hubby, John! You might see him helping us with all that heavy lifting we have to do. Clearly these two are adventurous and can handle heights much better than me! So, you can see who'll be doing chandelier and ceiling installations.
