It's finally time! Many of you have been so kind emailing us craving more pictures from our Ralph Lauren Equestrian Inspired Styled Bridal Shoot. This shoot is very near and dear to my heart! Long before Ira & Lucy even came about, I had dreamed of a fairytale photo shoot featuring a beautiful horse with elements of high fashion and rustic elegance. It took many hours of careful preparation and pulling together a dream team to make this happen! Why Ralph Lauren you ask? I am very drawn to the iconic design Ralph Lauren has become greatly admired for. His blend of rustic accents with refined elegance is breath-taking. I love his focus on different textures and patterns. His attention to detail, beauty and the uniqueness of design. Check out this film featuring Ralph Lauren.

Ralph Lauren, Equestrian Inspired Styled Shoot

The tablescape featured a custom handcrafted reclaimed barn wood farm table by Jacob, owner of Rocky Mountain Barn Board and Beam. He is our go-to man for the stunning farm tables we carry in our rental inventory! These beauties rent out quite a bit and we encourage you to contact us sooner than later for your special event. I custom designed the table runner and with tones of browns and creams that pulled in the color of the wood, chargers and horse stalls. I also loved that the fabric had roses on it. I played with different textures, woven chargers, china, brass, crystal stemware and milk glass. Will, with Flowers At Will, put together this classic and elegant hydrangea centerpiece focusing on adding height and playing off the amber and brown hues. Instead of placing one lamp as the centerpiece, I opted for two Ralph Lauren Designer lamps on either side of the larger floral design. Imagine at a real wedding, these could be lit for beautiful lighting! Vintage books, and masculine bookends created a Ralph Lauren masculinity and drama. Paperie and Pen designed a matching invitation suite, place cards and menus for us that were to die for!!!

LeAnn with Heartfelt Bridal was so incredible helping us find the perfect gowns! We were sad we lost the sun at the end of the shoot since we had one more bridal gown ready to go... another shoot perhaps! LeAnn is such a sweetheart and genuinely cares about her customers. Together, with her dresses and veils and the stunning makeup and hair by Lindsey with Behrens Artistry...WOW! GORGEOUS! The three of us worked quite close planning the different hair and makeup looks and how they worked with the two gowns. I found the most perfect equestrian fashion hat, riding gloves, and equestrian inspired belt. She even wore darling bow earrings that matched the cascading bows down the back of the wedding gown. SWOON! What I love about the black lace dress by Jordan Fashions, is that it is considered a "mother of the bride" gown, however you can see that with the right styling it is versatile for many looks!

Tangerine and Shades of Blue Inspiration Board

A beautiful and fresh approach to Spring and Summer Weddings! Perfect for the couple wanting to incorporate vintage accents without being overly "vintage". It's all about key pieces! Wedding Show Weekend!

Well, it's 11:00pm and we are finally crawling into bed! Nothing like unloading a Uhaul truck load of furniture in 16 degree weather! But, it was so worth it! We had the pleasure of meeting some truly awesome brides, couples, parents of the bride and fabulous vendors. I can't wait to sit down with these new 2014 AND 2015 couples to learn more about their unique relationships and vision for their wedding day. We received some awesome feedback at the show. It was pretty cool hearing from brides that have been following us on Facebook and came to the show specifically looking to meet us in person! How cool! It's going to be a busy 2014! 2014 Wedding Show Memories

 BEGINS WITH THE INSPIRATION BOARD THE BEFORE

As if I wasn't feeling anxious enough! 10 minutes into the start of the first day a camera crew showed up to interview us! I don't even remember how I answered the questions! I just kept telling myself to act normal and ignore the boom microphone hanging above my head. P.S. don't you just LOVE our new lamps!!!?

Anyone recognize our newest coffee table?! Meet "Serena"! "Katherine" the hand painted vintage table created a darling cake table! This became multiple bride's "must have" item!

There are always adjustments to the plan, but I'm still very pleased with the outcome of our booth! I'm already thinking of what we'll do next year! This year we heard some 2014 trend interest: color mint and gold (swoon!), gold gold gold everything, adoration for our gold "Madeline" chairs, our vintage blue lounge furniture, floral in all white, chandeliers and more chandeliers, 1920s styled weddings, and rustic elegance! Oh we can't wait to help our couples design their weddings! Did I mention we met quite a few awesome grooms!? My hubby was very involved in our wedding and it's so fun when I meet couples with the groom so involved!

Yes...we were the last ones out! Not only did we have our booth, but we also helped supply vintage props for 5 other vendor booths! Vintage made quite the appearance this year! Yay! I owe a MASSIVE THANK YOU to some incredible friends who helped me make this all possible!

My hubby Jonnathan who stands beside me day in and day out as we dream and jump into adventure together! Tara with An Open Vase who specially designed gorgeous flowers for me and came every single day to ensure they were perfect! Lindsey with Behrens Artistry who not only makes me feel beautiful, but has become such a special friend! Frannie and Nichole with Paperie & Pen who designed the paper details for our sweetheart table and helped me feel more confident and special with their daily check ins and uplifting chats! Arielle our newest Ira & Lucy team member! She is incredible with brides and has a great eye for design! Greg Marsh who designed a custom cake for our booth and featured our vintage props in his booth! LeAnn with Heartfelt Bridal. One of those rare people that you just connect with and adore so much! Daci with Wedding Gowns by Daci who also featured our vintage props and has become a good friend. Will, Becky and Frances I love getting to know you better and am excited to work with you more! Natasha and Lance from Meridian Floral and Event Rent who have also become great friends, so supportive and encouraging and always reliable! P.S. you have to have Natasha's chicken soup! Pantone 2014 Color Announced! Radiant Orchid

Isn't it stunning! I personally love the old world feel to it! If I were to design an event featuring this gorgeous hue, I would go with the inspiration from this board. Not an over the top nightclub feel, but instead a romantic ornate renaissance feel. Oh so lovely! Images via Pinterest.

Kentucky Derby Wedding & Event Inspiration

Think outside the box when it comes to your special event design! Color palettes and mood boards come from all types of inspiration! I've always loved the refinement and character of the Kentucky Derby. So versatile, "Derby" style can be used to celebrate Birthdays, Anniversaries, Engagements and more! This color palette could easily be for Fall or Spring, even Summer! Don't forget your mint juleps. There are many different takes on the mint julep and even non-alcoholic versions! Don't want to drink? Use the julep cups for floral vessels! Play up the equestrian details in your design, but don't go over the top. You'll go from an understated theme to cliche and tacky... Winter Wedding Inspiration

It's time for romance...

...surrounded with glistening snow, soft candlelight, and subtle hues of a frosted winterland. As a little girl my love for weddings first began with visions of an incredible winter dream. I flipped through an InStyle Magazine featuring a Russian Palace Winter Inspired Wedding and I was hooked. I tore the pages out and put them into a binder, my "dream wedding" binder. No, of course it didn't happen that way. I ended up the complete opposite with a vintage summer wedding that was perfect for my husband and I. I will admit though, I still think of those torn out pages...and I still love the fairytale of a winter wedding.

I have hopes that Ira & Lucy will get to be part of someone's dream winter wedding soon. McCall, Sun Valley, Boise...someone's old barn...Let's dream together... I'm so hoping Still Water Hollow in Nampa will have a winter wedding that we can do something like this for! I love the old chapel and the grounds! It'd be so nostalgic... If I could have it my way...I'd put a clear top tent in the country village, so you could still see the stars, the trees and the snow covered rustic cottages. Twinkling lights in the trees would invite lovers to stroll around the frozen pond. Soft candlelight would surround guests...hot cocoa...and a a solo cello for the bride's entrance...magic...

2014 Brides I am so jealous! The newest Bridal Designs are breathtaking! The lines are so feminine and romantic. The delicate layers are so dreamy... I could only imagine designing an entire wedding around any of these dresses! Can't you see the Austin Scarlett dress for a dreamy winter wedding!?
