Sydney + Bryce's Silent Film Inspired Wedding
SATURDAY JUNE 27, 2015 | SUTHERLAND'S RANCH | EAGLE, ID
Featured on Swooned
Bryce Hoogland and Sydney Thomas, high school sweethearts and film students with a shared passion for the silent cinema of yesteryear, wanted to imbue their big day with a “vintage film feel.” Surrounded by fragrant lavender fields, enshrouded in decades-old greenery, and dotted with an eclectic array of found art, Sutherland’s Ranch offered the Idahoan couple a setting worthy of the old screen. A lunar motif gave the event a touch of stardust, with a handcrafted crescent moon evoking the popular portrait props of the early twentieth century.
The wedding was captured beautifully by Ethan and Emily Hensley of E + E Photography, whose photographic treatment was inflected with a sense of the past. “Bryce and Sydney put so much thought into every bygone detail,” Emily says. “Their nuptials encompassed everything that is beautiful about a summer wedding in Idaho.” - Swooned
"Made by pastry chef Greg Marsh, the couple’s four-tiered naked cake was in keeping with the Arcadian theme. It sat on an amber glass pedestal, enwreathed in sugar-dusted berries and accented with tiny sprigs of baby’s breath." - Swooned

Ira + Lucy Wedding Tips
brrrr.... it's cold outside!
So, last night we were down to 1 DEGREE!!! And today's high was only 12.... Brrrr it's freezing! But, then I found this HOT deal today out running errands! I'll be honest, I don't shop much at Craft Warehouse, I think it's too pricey there and I'm very selective on what I do buy and that is usually if I have a coupon. As a Designer and working my butt off trying to find ways to give you beautiful weddings, while thinking of your wallet I do love when I land on cost savings. AND I usually try to source items via wholesale outlets and other connections we have. So, today I found these Pashmina scarves at $5 each in a wide variety of colors.
This is a great option for buying in bulk! Have 150 guests? Estimate half are female and plan for only a portion of those guests will use a scarf. I'd suggest 50! Keep your receipt and anything that isn't used you can return.
PASHMINA
Pashmina is the finest type of cashmere wool. The textiles made from it were first woven in Kashmir. The name comes from Persian: پشمینه / pašmina, meaning "made from wool" and literally translates to "Soft Gold" in Kashmiri -
Sure, you can find these a little cheaper on wholesale sites around $3.50 each, but I vote for the $5 option where you can see the colors in person and feel the quality! I say the peace of mind is well worth the extra $1.50! Plus, any you don't use simply return! Keep your receipt!
RECEPTION DETAILS
Drape scarves over your guests chairs, allowing them an option for warming up while toasts, cake cutting and other formalities are happening.

I am so excited to start my week with Ira and Lucy featured on The Westchester Wedding Planner! A "transplant" to Idaho from the bigger city life has been an adjustment these past few years and quite the adventure! Boise has been so welcoming and embraced our family with a lot of love and support! It's been incredible building our vintage rental and wedding design and planning business from the ground up here, so much so that we are now expanding our design and coordination services into Seattle and Portland! It is awesome to be featured by New York's Westchester Wedding Planner this morning! I adore when Idaho Creatives are recognized and put on the "wedding designer map"! We have some incredibly awesome talent here! I'm so grateful for the awesome team of creatives that helped me pull this dream shoot together! xx
[pullquote width="600" float="left"]Happy Monday! This is a fantastic way to begin our week! Heidi of Ira & Lucy Event Design envisioned a dream photo shoot with the most delicate color palette, stunning tablescape with the accents of watercolor, and wedding attire producing one of the prettiest shoots we’ve had the pleasure of featuring here at TWWP. There are so many sweet details that brides can use as inspiration for their own lovely weddings. I hope you love this photo shoot as much as I do. [/pullquote]

Spring & Summer 2015 Wedding Inspiration - "Vanilla Butter" Geometry Meets Old World Elegance
Alright my 2015 Spring and Summer couples! I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU to consider swapping peach and coral for this stunning pale butter yellow. Yellow is a color that creates quite the wow factor. Whether a mustard yellow for a more boho vibe, or this pale version that is muted down, rustic and features an old world charm you can't go wrong! I am particularly fond of this weather'd yellow as seen in our inspiration board; it pairs so well with vintage furniture and decor! I know how many of you adore burlap, lace and rustic elements. Consider changing it up a bit! You can still add the vintage elements (old crates, lounge seating and accent chairs, antique'd furniture for cake displays and so many more options!), but you also don't have to be "all vintage". Add in some modern elements with the hot geometric trend - it can still all work together quite beautifully! Let's take your burlap, chalkboard, vintage love and mix it up a bit! We'd love to hear your thoughts! I was inspired by the stunning Carolina Herrara Gown in lemon yellow!
